Gopher Tortoise Survey- Coffee State Park, Douglas Georgia.

My wife and myself were recently fortunate enough to participate in the Gopher Tortoise survey held at General Coffee Park in Douglas (May 20-22). Two of our nephews also came along. We had a great time and there was a great turnout. Thanks again to B.W. Smith for arranging this! Hope we get to do it again soon!

Chad Minter, former VP of the Southeastern Hot Herp Society, Took this opportunity to try out his "Gopher Cam". An interesting homemade apperatus that sure did the trick to find one tricky tortoise named Chester (shown in most of the photos above).
